At the end of a busy day, the owners of this property enjoy a secluded retreat. Their home’s non-descript entry was transformed into a beautiful oasis with plantings, a pond and stream with wetlands, and a courtyard featuring a custom arbor, reflection pool, and natural stone walls. The rear yard features a fireplace, children’s play area with dry stream and footbridge, and outdoor kitchen.

This natural woodland residence was enhanced with carefully crafted stone planters, Asian sculptures, a new natural stone entranceway, and native & low maintenance plantings. A beautiful, raised stone patio with curvilinear lines, complete with built-in grill, was created in the rear yard to replace the old deck.
Flagstaff’s natural beauty takes center stage in the design of this landscape, with cues from the surrounding native plants guiding the design. A dry streambed, created to capture rainwater, is a key focal point with a unique natural stone bridge, large boulders and abundant plantings. The owners relax and connect with nature in the rustic courtyard, looking out on the meadow beyond.
A colorful and exuberant garden was created in the backyard of this otherwise typical suburban home. The owners desired something unique and fun to look out upon from their family room and kitchen inside, and a place to delight the senses outside. It was a joy to create this unique oasis!
This tudor-style home previously had neither landscaping to blend it into its high altitude setting, nor space to fully appreciate its incredible lakeside setting. A comfortable, yet private, terraced patio was sculpted into the slope in the rear yard overlooking the lake, with native plantings and large boulders. In the front, elegant entry plantings, sculpture, and a tranquil sitting area were incorporated.
Weather-resilient beauty abounds in this high-altitude meadow landscape. Vegetation cues from the surrounding native landscape guided revegetation and soil stabilization; a primary concern had been erosion and standing water. Wide stone steps and abundant wildflowers welcome visitors. In the back yard, a raised patio overlooks a welcome oasis of soft, green grass for family enjoyment.
The Owners of this home enjoy compliments on both the front and rear yard. The unique entrance welcomes visitors with a water feature, stepping stones, and lush — yet resilient and drought-tolerant – plantings; beauty & balance. A small grass area is incorporated for children to play, and the rear yard is an outdoor entertainment environment that the entire family enjoys.
The Arbors Condominium’s common area was artfully designed using ornamental grasses and a semi-circular stone patio to extend the space outdoors. Native plantings and a minimalist approach blend to create an appropriate stage for the building’s architectural renovation.
